[DRAFT] Branch cooperation
This is merely a brain dump, (Mostly), but I want to figure out an exexorder that would establish cooperation between the senate & executive branches. I'm thinking something similar to the US, how we have the VP be the "President of the Senate," but we don't give them voting authority. So, I open this up to all cabinet members, current & future, to tell me what you think. This is a sounding-board exercise more than anything. Thanks!

Eh, I don't like the idea. I'm more for branch separation, personally.

Are you in the executive branch, senator? I think not!

Re: [DRAFT] Branch cooperation
Eh, once the election period is over I will be an executive clerk mainly, not a cabinet member, but that is beside the point. You can comment on our drafts, we can comment on yours. That's fair, in my opinion.
On the actual topic at hand, however, I'd point out that our current set of laws, as well as the constitution if passed would increase branch cooperation. The reason for my hesitation is fairly simple: If you over cooperate legally, you end up having single indiviuals with a significant amount of power in both branches, which can obviously end poorly. I think non-legal cooperation -such as our discussion here- can have positive implications for those involved, but if put into law, forced cooperation between branches has the potentially to end poorly, primarily due to the potential caveat being the unwillingness of cooperation, particularly if the indiviuals forced to cooperate were in different political parties.

Re: [DRAFT] Branch cooperation
Also, you're wrong in the sense of the U.S. government. While the Vice President is technically the President of the Senate, it's been years since the Vice President has actually been on the Senate floor. The Vice President doesn't usually use their power to bring legislation before the Senate; They're only there for their primary duty, breaking the tie. The Head of the Senate type job is handed to a person who gets the title "pro tempore" currently Senator Orrin Hatch (if I recall correctly.) This person who is appointed by the Vice President, is currently and has been in the past, the senior member of the Senate for the current governing party. Typically, when the executive isn't a member of the same party as the majority of the Senate, the president pro temporal sometimes delays votes to try and prevent things from happening.

Yes, I know... I was typing this late, as the post time will testify to.

No, Discord means I have to pay attention to this game... If anything important were to actually occur, it'd be on the forums. Or so I love think. I try to pay as little attention as possible and still get all the work done, I'm lazy and need to retire from this game...

I know I won't. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be good for my sleep amounts.
