We are called to court today to prosecute Senator Xernos Mataki of Extortion and Fraud. We have evidence to prove that she is unlawfully using her fellow citizens for her own personal benefit. She has attempted to coerce Senator Pepe of Fedora into renouncing his party in favor of her own. In a direct message with Senator Pepe on Discord, Xernos told Pepe when questioned what she wanted from him “For you to join RNP and swear allegiance to the emperor in exchange i drop all charges I make you leader”. She was blackmailing Pepe into joining her party. Comfortable in the knowledge that Xernos’ illegal actions would be prosecuted, Pepe declined her offer and screenshotted it. This is illegal under Act I - The Criminal Code Article 1.2: Extortion. Xernos attempted to coerce a fellow citizen into joining her party for personal gain.
Xernos is also guilty of Fraud. She has claimed to have an informant among the ranks of the Progressive Nationalist Union. Whether this is true or not, we don’t know, but either way, it is Fraud. If she does have an informant she is guilty of letting us believe that all members of the Progressive Nationalist Union are honest members of the party, thus lying by omission. If she does not have an informant, she is guilty of blatantly lying to Senator Pepe. Senator Xernos Mataki is guilty of Extortion and Fraud and should be banned from holding any office during the January 2018 term.

First off I exercised my right to freedom of speech and merely offered him a position as my leader if he left and if he did I would drop my charges against him again I didn't use threats I just offered it It isn't blackmail either because its not something people don't already know. Second its not fraud because its not to my benefit that I say I have an informant amongst your group.

Hmmm, let me consider something for a moment

Xernos, why did you want Pepe to be in your party and why were you willing to make him leader?

You were blackmailing Senator Pepe by threatening to criminally prosecute him if he did not join your party. The way you phrased it was bribery, but it boils down to the same thing.
It is most definitely to your benefit because knowing the inner workings of our party can help you and your party to work against us effectively. You could learn our campaign strategies, our court arguments, there are numerous benefits to have a spy in a rival political party.

I am not the leader type and previously in the NBP I saw his goals and ambitions and they were something I was willing to follow so I offered him leadership of my party

So you genuinely believed that Pepe being in your party would benefit the region?

It would benefit her party, not the region.

Even if she believed she and Pepe could help the region, it does not change the fact that she blackmailed Pepe. It is still clearly Extortion.

You attempted to coerce him into joining your party. It is clearly blackmailing to tell someone that you would press charges on them if they didn't do what you tell them to do. I ask you how it is not Extortion.

Please Xernos, as much as I appreciate the effort you should also try to remain professional

I wasn't blackmailing him he wasn't forced to accept or something bad would occur and blackmail and extortion are two different things I wouldn't obtain anything from him other than him being my leader

Actually Extortion as definied by the Constitution is technically incorrect to what Extortion actually is
